Subaru Europe is responsible for the development, testing and distribution of Subaru genuine parts and accessories across Europe. BJL were briefed with producing a brand story for Subaru Europe, and define their ideology going forward. I was tasked with visualising the drafted copy and determining an appropriate means to convey the story.

You and I,
we were born ready.

I hoped to design a book that portrayed the many possible moments and memories that make up a Subaru drivers life. I felt we could tell the different facets of the story best with a number of images on each page, so I set the spreads up like a scrap book with a very loose grid and pieced the typography and imagery together like a jigsaw. I began by using found photography, in the knowledge that this would eventually supported by a photo shoot.

The second half of the book became a functional diary so we decided to use a very tactile paper stock to give it the feel of moleskin notebook. I designed a foil block headline arrangement for the cover and spine, with a paper sleeve for an additional layer of craft and consideration.
